Determining Optimum Rotary Blade Design for Wind-Powered Water-Pumping Systems for Local Selected Sites

The design of a windmill rotor is critical for harnessing wind energy. In this work, study conducted to optimize the and performance blade that suitable low conditions. windmills’ blades are aerodynamically designed based on SG6043 airfoil speed data at local selected sites. aerodynamic profile can provide maximum power coefficient, which relation between real available energy given reference area, was calculated. Different parameters, such as shapes, chord distributions, tip ratio, geometries set angles, etc., were used with objective extracting water pumping system. Windmill 10.74 m, 7.34 6.34 m diameter three obtained sites Abomsa, Metehara, Ziway in south-east Ethiopia. During rotary optimization, element momentum (BEM) theory solving iteration by MATLAB® coding used.
